Manchester City are ready to break the record for the most expensive transfer ever as they seek to bring Cristiano Ronaldo back to the Premier League this summer. According to the Mirror, City boss Roberto Mancini wants to reunite Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez in order to prepare a team capable of landing both the Premier League and the Champions League next season.
Ronaldo has been extremely prolific for Real Madrid this season and is already the highest scorer in the league for Los Blancos. He joined Madrid from Manchester United in 2009 for a jaw dropping £80m, and City are prepared to smash that record to pieces in order to lure Ronaldo back to Manchester.
Ronaldo apparently has a $1 billion buyout clause in his contract. However his relationship with Sir Alex Ferguson and his former Man Utd team mates may be prove to be a stumbling block in any possible transfer to City.
