Liverpool have inched closer to the signing of Jordan Henderson from Sunderland after it emerged that the Reds have agreed an £20m fee for the young midfielder with the Black Cats. The Wearsiders were not keen to sell Henderson but Liverpool’s offer was too good to refuse and they have reluctantly agreed to let Henderson leave.
Henderson is regarded as one of England’s finest upcoming players and earned his first senior cap against France in November last year. He still has four years left on his Sunderland contract, having penned a five year deal last April.
Henderson is supposed to leave soon with his England U-21 teammates for the upcoming European championships in Denmark and an announcement is expected from Liverpool’s end soon regarding his transfer.
