Striker Leroy Lita is on the verge of a move to Premier League newboys Swansea City after Middlesbrough accepted a bid from the Welsh outfit for the 26 year old. Boro accepted Swansea’s reported £1.75m for the Congo born forward and have given him permission to discuss personal terms with the Swans.
A product of the Chelsea youth system, Lita started his professional career with Bristol City and spent three years with them before transferring to Reading. At the Madjeski, he had loan spells at Charlton and Norwich and was eventually sold to Middlesbrough in 2009.
He scored twelve goals for Boro in the Championship last season.
Boro manager Tony Mowbray has however said that the move is far from being completed and added that there was every possibility the striker would still be at the Riverside next season.
