Swans to swoop for Trezeguet?

According to media reports, Swansea City are set to land a big name signing in the form of French striker David Trezeguet. The 33 year old forward, a member of the victorious French 1998 World Cup squad and scorer of the winner at Euro 2000, is currently a free agent after leaving Spanish outfit Hercules Alicante following the latter’s relegation from La Liga.

Trezegol, as he was fondly named at Juventus, netted twelve times for Hercules last season in the league. Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers reckons the forward’s big game experience could prove handy for the Swans as they aim to stay in the league following a surprise promotion from the Championship last season.

Swansea’s opening game of the 2011/12 season sees them travel to Man City next Monday.
