Shakhtar coach Mircea Lucescu has officially claimed that Arsenal are interested in the services of the Ukrainian club’s Brazilian star Jadson. The playmaker’s name had been taken in the media a few days ago as a possible replacement for the outgoing duo of Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas but when quizzed about the link, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said that they were not in talks with Shakhtar.
But Shakhtar boss Lucescu has now officially gone on record to say that the Gunners want the 27 year old and now any potential transfer depended on the player himself. Jadson, who played for Brazil in this summer’s Copa America campaign, is valued at somewhere around £12m. Shakhtar signed the player from Atletico way back in 2005 for about a quarter of that amount.
