Cobblers sign Eaves

Northampton Town have officially announced the signing of Tom Eaves on a two-year-deal. The striker had one year left on his current deal with Rotherham, but the two parties terminated it by mutual consent, paving the way for the 32-year-old to join the Cobblers.

Eaves had originally joined Rotherham in 2022 from Hull City, but managed only four league goals across two seasons for the Millers, two of which came on the final day of the 23/24 season against Cardiff City.
The 32-year-old has plenty of lower-league experience, having also played for the likes of Oldham,

Bolton, Yeovil and Gillingham. He has also had loan stints at Bristol, Shrewsbury and Bury. At Gillingham, he scored 38 league goals across two seasons (17/18 and 18/19) in the third tier, and Northampton will be hoping he can replicate some of that form next season at Sixfields.

Eaves is NTFC’s sixth signing of the summer transfer window, joining the likes of James Wilson, Callum Morton, Nik Tzanev, Jack Baldwin and Cameron McGeehan in the list of new arrivals at the club.
Northampton finished 14th in the 2023/24 League One season. They will begin the 24/25 league campaign away at Bristol Rovers.
