Wenger mulls Richardson move

According a report in the Mirror, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is reportedly mulling over signing Sunderland’s Kieran Richardson. Richardson is primarily a left winger, but is an extremely versatile player who can also fill in as a left back and central midfielder if required. Recent injury woes have left Wenger short on cover in defence and Richardson’s asking price is expected to be within the range of Wenger, who hasn’t paid any exorbitant fees in the recent past.

Richardson was with Manchester United before joining Sunderland but was born in London and was a trainee at Arsenal’s local rivals West Ham United.

Richardson has been capped eight times by England and was considered by several as an outside candidate for their 2010 World Cup squad.
