Young Everton defender Shkodran Mustafi has become the first player to leave Goodison Park in the current winter transfer window by signing for Italian Serie B outfit Sampdoria. Mustafi, 19, was signed by Moyes from German outfit Hamburger SV, but his career failed to take off at Goodison Park and he has now opted for a switch by joining the Blucerchiati, who were relegated from Serie A last season.
Mustafi made only one senior appearance for Everton, as a substitute for Tony Hibbert in their Europa League clash against BATE Borisov.
Mustafi has been capped by Germany at all youth levels between U16 and U20. He is a centre half who can also operate on the left side of defence.
