Arsenal are facing a stiff battle for Chelsea and Manchester City as they aim to sign Southampton’s highly rated left back Luke Shaw. The 16 year old is yet to make a first team appearance at the South Coast club but has been touted as one for the future and is the subject of interest from the Gunners, Chelsea and the Citizens, among others.
Arsenal appear to hold the upper hand in this transfer as they have a good working relationship with Southampton, having secured both Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Saints in the recent past. However money could be a factor, with the Championship outfit said to value Shaw at £4m +
Shaw is a regular for the England U-17’s and is a product of the Southampton academy that also gave the world Gareth Bale not too long ago.
