Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has dismissed talk of him selling Croatian star Luka Modric to Chelsea and taking Fernando Torres in exchange from the Blues. Modric was coveted by Chelsea last summer and although Spurs managed to persuade him to stay at the Lane, Chelsea still remain interested in securing his services.
Torres meanwhile has failed to fire for Chelsea since his switch from Liverpool although he did give a glimpse or two of what he was capable of in yesterday’s win over Sunderland.
Redknapp’s need for a top class striker is well known and therefore reports began to emerge of a swap between the two sides. However the gaffer quelled the rumours by saying, ” There is no way he ( Torres) is coming to Tottenham and no swap deal is in the offing for Luka Modric, I think they will get the best out of him”
