Manchester United have joined rivals Man City and Italian champions Juventus in the race for Robin Van Persie after Arsenal announced that they had received a bid from the Red Devils for their want away striker. Van Persie has twelve months left on his current deal and has already expressed his unwillingness to pen a new one. He has also not flown out for the club’s pre-season Asian tour, meaning that he is now almost certain to leave the Emirates before the start of the new season.
United are valuing Van Persie at £15m, but Arsenal want something close to £20m. Juve aren’t offering as much as Man City, but are prepared to meet the striker’s high wage demands and a move to Italy could be the safer option for Arsenal if they don’t want to sell the striker to their closest league rivals.
