Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that the Red Devils are indeed interested in signing Sao Paulo’s teenage Brazilian star Lucas Moura. The 19 year old is valued at more than £30m by his club and is currently being chased by both United and Chelsea, with Real Madrid and Internazionale also keeping an eye on the situation. Ferguson made the revelation on United’s pre-season tour of China but was quick to add that no deal had been concluded yet.
United have made only two signings so far this summer- Nick Powell and Shinji Kagawa, and have been linked with a bid for Arsenal’s want away Dutch star Robin Van Persie, for whom they face competition from Juventus and Manchester City.
Rumours in South America say that the Red Devils have already had a £26m bid for Moura, who is in London for the Olympics, accepted by Sao Paulo.
