After securing the signature of Gylfi Sigurdsson earlier this season, Tottenham Hotspur again seem set to hijack Liverpool’s bid for another one of Reds manager Brendan Rodgers’ previous players with a move for medio Joe Allen. The Welsh star is currently playing for Team GB at the Olympics and has already been the subject of one failed £12m bid from Liverpool.
Swansea have been upset with the manner of Liverpool’s approach for Allen and have gone on record to say it contravenes a previous agreement between the two sides.
That has opened the door for Spurs and the Lilywhites boss Andre Villas-Boas is set to make his move quickly to get Allen to join forces with Sigurdsson at the Lane.
