According to the Daily Mail Arsenal are set to add to their strikers in January, with Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente their main target. The Spanish international could be available at a cut-price fee, as his contract expires next summer.
Llorente is highly-rated and was expected to leave San Mames in the summer. However, despite their being interest from Italian giants Juventus and Premier League Tottenham there was no offer that met Bilbao’s valuation of the player.
In January Llorente will be able to discuss terms of a free transfer with clubs from abroad. The Basque club are more likely to agree a cut-rice deal to avoid losing the striker for no fee at all. The Gunners are likely to face competition for the Spaniard’s signature though.
The Mail also claims that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is keeping tabs on Fiorentina’s Stevan Jovetic and Uruguayan international striker Abel Hernandez.
