Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is already drawing up a transfer shortlist. According to today’s papers, the Portuguese boss has made strengthening his attack his priority this summer. One surprise transfer target that has emerged is Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko.
Chelsea’s strikers were hardly prolific last season nd it seems that Mourinho sees the Bosnian as the answer to the Blues striking conundrum. The 27-year-old Bosnian has been unable to claim first team football at City this season, but still impressed in his limited appearances scoring vital goals along the way for last season’s runners-up.
Dzeko has been heavily linked with a move away from Eastlands this summer in order to play regular first team football next season. The bookmakers also believe that Dzeko is set for a move to Stamford Bridge.
Another player that is expected to be heading to Stamford Bridge this summer is Bayer Leverkusen star Andre Schurrle. Talks are on-going about the 22-year-old moving to Chelsea in a deal worth £20million.
Blues midfielder Kevin de Bruyne could be part of the deal, but the Belgium international is believed to prefer a move to Bundesliga rivals Dortmund. The transfer could be resolved by the deal being pushed through with a straight cash offer.
