According to the Daily Mirror, English champions Manchester United are interested in signing highly-rated young Barcelona playmaker Thiago Alcantara. United boss David Moyes is keen to strengthen his midfield options this summer and Thiago looks to be top of his shopping list.
The £15million rated ace is currently away on international duty at the under-21 European Championship, where he is captaining his country. Thiago is also attracting the interest of Manchester City and Real Madrid.
Another player attracting the interest of the champions is Southampton full-back Luke Shaw, according to the Daily Star. The youngster broke into the Saints first team last season and showed flashes of his ability.
Everton’s Leighton Baines is Moyes’ first choice signing at left-back, but if the Scot fails to sign the England international then 17-year-old Shaw would be another option, as Moyes looks for quality competition for French star Patrice Evra at full-back.
United are still not out of the running for Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski, who was expected to join arch-rivals Bayern Munich this summer. Lewandowski has recently revealed that he still wants to leave the German club, but BVB have stated they will not allow him to leave this summer.
