Arsenal are being linked with a move for Benfica full-back Lorenzo Melgarejo. The 22-year-old is valued at £5million and according to his agent, Arsenal and Fenerbache are leading the race for the Paraguayan international.
Melgarejo appeared for Benfica in the Europa League final against Chelsea last season and is highly-rated. The Gunners have money to spend this summer and boss Arsene Wenger looks set to strengthen his options at full-back, despite having the likes of Kieran Gibbs, Nacho Monreal, Bacary Sagna and Cark Jenkinson already in his squad.
A more likely addition is a central midfielder and the Gunners have been linked with a number of central midfield targets. The latest player being linked with the club from north London is Dortmund star Ilkay Gundogan.
The Germany international has been a key player for Dortmund this season, as BVB made the Champions League. The youngster even scored his team’s equaliser in a 2-1 defeat against arch-rivals Bayern Munich in the final.
Dortmund are expected to lose a number of their top players this summer and Gundogan could be one of them. The youngster of Turkish descent could cost up to £20million to sign this summer.
