Manchester United have entered the race to sign exciting Fiorentina youngster Federico Chiesa, according to reports from Italy. The 21 year old, the son of former Italian international Enrico, has already attracted attention from the likes of Juventus and Chelsea, but the Red Devils have joined his growing list of admirers as Jose Mourinho seeks to strengthen his squad in the winter transfer window.
Chiesa, 21, has scored 2 goals and four assists for Fiorentina this season. He has predominantly been employed by the Viola this season on the right wing, a position that Mourinho has often struggled to fill at Old Trafford this season.
Juve are hopeful that Chiesa will follow in Federico Bernardeschi’s footsteps and make the move from Florence to Turin. The 21 year old, capped by Italy at U19, 20 and 21 levels, made his senior debut for the Azzurri earlier this year against Argentina, and is a versatile player capable of playing on both flanks and as a forward.
Chiesa has made more dribbles than any other player in Serie A this season- only Juve’s Joao Cancelo averages more dribbles a game than him.
Fiorentina are sixth in the table going into this weekend’s round of fixtures and will square off against Roma in Round 11.
