Man City starlet linked with Real and Dortmund

Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund are among the clubs said to be interested in talented Man City youngster Brahim Diaz. The 19 year old medio scored a brace in City’s midweek League Cup win over Fulham and manager Pep Guardiola has already moved to say that they would do their best to keep him at the club, with the youngster’s contract with the Citizens set to expire next summer.

Guardiola has already said that Diaz is talented enough to be playing first team footy, but the intense competition for spots at the Etihad isn’t helping the Malaga born teen’s chances.

Diaz has been restricted to three appearances for City this season- one in the Community Shield against Chelsea and the other two in the League Cup against Oxford and Fulham. He started against the Cottagers and played 78 minutes before being replaced by Riyad Mahrez.
Diaz has been capped by Spain at U17, U19 and U21 levels. He was approached by Morocco, which could’ve seen him turn out for the Atlas Lions at the World Cup in Russia, but rejected them.

While Real would perhaps be a more natural destination for Diaz, he may also do well to consider Dortmund. BVB have made an England international out of Jadon Sancho, the youngster whose situation a year ago at the Etihad was not too dissimilar to Diaz’s.
