West Ham boss Gianfranco Zola has revealed that he would interested in signing the young Inter striker Mario Balotelli. The Italian under-21 international has fallen out with Inter boss Jose Mourinho after the ‘Special One’ left him out of recent squads.
Zola tried to sign Balotelli last summer but couldn’t finalise the deal to bring the talented youngster to Upton Park. The youngster looks set to seek a move away from the San Siro with the World Cup approaching next June. Balotelli could choose to represent the Italians or could choose to play for Ghana at the finals.
Balotelli wouldn’t be short of offers if he were made available for transfer with Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti believed to be a big fan. He has also been linked with Arsenal and Liverpool in recent months. The 19 year-old is highly rated throughout Europe but also has a reputation for being difficult to handle.
“If Inter want to talk about him in January we are ready,” Zola told Corriere dello Sport.
“Mario has extraordinary potential, but he must understand that he has to improve, showing the right attitude. Last summer there was a time when we asked about him. In January, we will see what intention they have. And sure if he does leave Milan, we would not be the only ones who want him.”
