Coventry City have completed the permanent transfers of defenders Richard Wood and Chris Hussey. The pair had been on loan at Ricoh Arena and have now become permanent members of the squad. Wood arrives from Sheffield Wednesday and Hussey has came in from AFC Wimbledon.
The pair have signed three-and-half year deals and arrive for undisclosed fees. City manager Chris Coleman has expressed his delight at the signing of the pair. He told the clubs official website: “Richard Wood has always been a target for me ever since I arrived at Coventry so I’m delighted we now have him.
“He is one of the best defenders in the Championship as his performances for us to date have shown. We brought Chris Hussey as one for the future because he is, in my opinion, the best left-back in the Conference.
“In the short time he has been here we have already had three or four enquiries from other clubs asking if we will let him out on loan and we have told them no. In Chris we feel we have got someone who is going to turn into a very good player, it’s all in front of him and we are looking forward to continually working with him.”
