Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has denied that he is interested in out-of-favour AC MIlan striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar. The Arsenal boss is looking to sign a striker as he currently lacks options up front due to an injury to striker Robin Van Persie.
Huntelaar was believed to be on Wenger’s list of potential signings but it appears that the Dutchman is not heading to the Emirates Stadium. The 26 year-old moved to the San Siro last summer but has struggled to command a regular starting place in Leonardo’s side this season.
The former Ajax ace is expected to move on during the transfer window and has been linked with numerous clubs in Italy, Spain and England.
Wenger told Arsenal’s official website: “I am surprised he never plays but he is not on our radar,”
“I don’t believe this kind of player can move. I am not sure he can move again in this transfer period because he has already moved once this season.”
Wenger has also insisted that he is also unlikely to sign Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh in the January transfer window. However the Moroccans contract expires next summer and he could then move to the Emirates on free transfer.
