Burnley snare Fox

Premier League Burnley have completed the signing of Celtic full-back Daniel Fox for an undisclosed fee. Fox has only been at Parkhead for six months after his summer arrival from Coventry. Celtic boss Tony Mowbray admitted that he could sell the Scottish international earlier in the week and the Clarets moved quickly to secure his signature.

The 23 year-old impressed in the Championship with Coventry after making a name for himself with Walsall in League One. His form got him noticed and the former Everton trainee was snapped up by Scottish giants Celtic. However despite winning his first Scotland cap at the club he didn’t convince his boss that he is good enough for the club.

Fox has signed a three and a half year deal with the Lancashire side after completing his medical and agreeing personal terms earlier today. He won’t be eligible to appear against Chelsea this weekend as he was not signed in time.

The full-back is new Burnley boss Brian Laws fourth signing since arriving at Turf Moor. Burnley have already signed goalkeeper Nicky Weaver, striker Frederic Nimani and defender Leon Cort. The former Sheffield Wednesday boss is trying to strengthen his squad ahead of his sides battle to avoid relegation from the Premier League.
