Burnley have completed the loan signing of Chelsea midfielder Jack Cork and Portsmouth striker David Nugent has returned for his second loan spell at the club. Cork is highly rated at Stamford Bridge and signed a new contract three year contract in August.
Cork is an England under-21 international and appeared at the under-21 European Championships during the summer. He has previous experience of playing in the Championship with Coventry but a move to Burnley will give the youngster valuable Premier League experience.
He revealed: “I am very excited about the future after playing in the Championship the last three years with various clubs. It was great experience and hopefully I can now push on in the Premier League. I want to impress people. Football is all about taking opportunities. I’ll be training hard and hopefully playing well.”
David Nugent has spent most of the season with Burnley on loan from Portsmouth but his loan deal had expired. However the striker has now signed an extension to his loan deal until the end of the season. He has proved a big hit at Turf Moor and could complete a permanent move in the summer.
