Posh sign Dickinson as Pilgrims look for keeper stay

Championship side Peterborough have completed the signing of striker Liam Dickinson on loan for the rest of the season from Brighton. The 24 year-old only joined the Seagulls from Derby last summer but has struggled to make an impact at the Withdean Stadium and has recently lost his place in the team to new signing Chris Holroyd.

Dickinson was formerly with new manager Jim Gannon at Stockport and the Irishman got the best out of the hitman. Brighton boss Gus Poyet will be happy for the striker to move on-loan to gain regular first team football.

Poyet said: “Liam wants to be playing regularly,”

“We cannot guarantee him that at this point in time so it will be good for him to play first-team football under a manager he knows well.”

Fellow Championship strugglers Plymouth are looking to keep on-loan keeper David Stockdale for the rest of the season. The 24 year-old was on an initial month’s loan but Plymouth are hopeful the club can come to an agreement with Fulham over an extension to the deal.

His loan-deal expires after tonights home game with Swansea. Pilgrims manager Paul Marriner told the Herald: “We are trying to extend David’s loan and it’s looking extremely positive. I will probably have more information after the game tonight.”
