Gunners target Szoboszlai signs for Leipzig

Exciting young midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai has opted for a switch to the Bundesliga, with RB Leipzig officially confirming his acquisition from Salzburg earlier today. The Hungarian international was linked heavily with the Gunners, but has chosen to move between the two Red Bull owned clubs, just as Naby Keita and Dayot Upamecano did before him.

Szoboszlai, who will wear the No.17 jersey at Leipzig, regards the move as an ideal one for his development. He has inked a deal that will keep him at the Bundesliga outfit till the summer of 2025.

Despite his tender age, Szoboszlai has already become a key member of the Hungarian national team. He scored a stunner of a free kick against Turkey in the Nations League back in September and also netted a late goal against Iceland to help Hungary qualify for next year’s European Championships.

Szoboszlai will be eligible to play in the Champions League for RBL, meaning that fans could see him in action when Julian Nagelsmann’s charges take on Liverpool in their round of 16 clash later this season.
Leipzig are currently third in the Bundesliga, tied on points with leaders Bayern Munich and one point behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen.
