Liverpool have appointed veteran manager Roy Hodgson as their replacement for Rafa Benitez. Hodgson, 62, joins the Reds after an immensely successful 2009/10 season with Fulham FC where he took the Cottagers to the finals of the Europa League.
Benitez left Liverpool by mutual consent after a disappointing season that saw the Reds unable to match their 2008/09 second place finish. He now manages Italian giants and reigning European champions Internazionale.
Liverpool are the fourth English club to have been coached by Hodgson. Prior to joining Fulham, he had also managed Bristol City and Blackburn Rovers.
Hodgson has also coached Scandinavian clubs Malmo, Halmstad, Copenhagen, Orebro and Viking, Swiss outfits Neuchatel Xamax and Grasshopper, Italian club Inter Milan and the national teams of Finland, UAE and Switzerland.
