Man City striker Emmanuel Adebayor has signed for Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur on a season long loan. The Togo forward, who was deemed surplus to requirements by Roberto Mancini at City, will bolster Spurs’ strike force- long seen as a weak area for the club. Prior to playing for City, Adebayor plied his trade for Spurs’ bitter North London rivals Arsenal. He spent the latter half of last season on loan at Real Madrid and helped score crucial goals for his side when they beat Spurs in the quarterfinal of the competition.
Spurs play Man City this weekend in the Premier League but as per the terms of his loan deal, Adebayor will not be available to feature on Sunday.
