Manchester City’s Togolese striker Emmanuel Adebayor has officially completed his move to Tottenham Hotspur. The forward spent last season on loan at the Lane, netting 18 times for the Lilywhites and impressed the management enough to persuade them to make a offer for his services permanently.
However negotiations between the two clubs in the last couple of months weren’t as smooth as both would have liked, and Adebayor himself tweeted that the deal “took longer than expected”
Tottenham started the season with only one recognised striker in the form of Jermain Defoe, who netted in their 2-1 loss to Newcastle United on the opening day of the season.
No contract or wage details were officially given, but it is believed that Adebayor has signed a three year contract and will be amongst the highest earners at the Lane.
