The agent of Chelsea star Jorginho has said that he expects his client to be the subject of several bids in the summer and has not ruled out the possibility of another reunion with old boss Maurizio Sarri. Jorginho has worked under Sarri at both Napoli and Chelsea, and the Italian gaffer’s presence at Stamford Bridge was one of the reasons for the 28-year old ‘s move to the Premier League.
The midfielder’s representative Joao Santos told Italian publication Tuttomercatoweb that he was “sure some important proposals would come” as there weren’t that many “high-level players like his client” and that they would “evaluate those together with Chelsea”
Sarri currently manages Italian giants Juventus and is a known admirer of Jorginho, who played 37 times under him in the league last season. The Brazilian has also enjoyed regular playing time under new Blues boss Frank Lampard, with 20 starts and three appearances off the bench so far in the 2019/20 Premier League season. However Chelsea have plenty of midfield options, with the likes of Kovacic, Reuben-Loftus Cheek, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Mason Mount, Ross Barkley and N’Golo Kante all vying for starting spots at the London outfit.
Jorginho is contracted to Chelsea till the summer of 2023, and is expected to make his European Championship debut this summer, having missed out on the Azzurri squad that competed in the tournament four years ago.
