Ajax bring in two strikers

Eredivisie side AJax have strengthened their squad with the signings of strikers Marko Pantelic and Kerlon. Serbian striker Pantelic has arrived in Amsterdam on a free transfer from Hertha Berlin, where he spent four years. He has signed a one-year contract at the Amsterdam Arena.

Brazilian striker Kerlon has arrived on a season-long loan from Serie A champions Inter. The 21 year-old is highly rated and only moved to Inter from Chievo earlier this summer. He struggled to make an impact with Chievo last season due to injury problems and was restricted to just four appearances.

Martin Jol’s side also have an option to sign the youngster on a permanent deal, should he prove to be a success at the club. The Brazilian, who can also play as a attacking midfielder, is famous for doing a ‘seal dribble’.

Liverpool winger Ryan Babel has revealed he would consider a move Ajax in January, to aid his challenge for a place in the Dutch national squad at next year’s World Cup. The 22 year-old told De Telegraaf: “There have been a lot of things promised, but they haven’t been followed up. I would get to play for more minutes and have more chances, but after the first defeat, I only lost my place.”
