Blackburn Rovers boss Sam Allardyce has revealed that he is hopeful of signing Portsmouth striker Aruna Dindane. He is looking to conclude a deal for Ivory Coast international in the next week. Rovers have a long standing interesting in the striker, but he has impressed even more during his loan spell with Pompey.
The 29 year-old has shown good form while on the South Coast and he is a fans favourite. Despite his popularity Dindane is unlikely to feature again for the crisis club with Lens due £4million if he makes two more appearances for the South Coast outfit.
With well publicised financial difficulties they cannot afford to pay the money due. His exit is now inevitable and Blackburn are hoping to take advantage of the situation and conclude a quick deal. Allardyce revealed: “I would expect we will try to give a decision early next week.
“We want to see whether we can secure the transfer first and foremost and we’ll see where we go from there.”
The striker has also played for Belgian giants Anderlecht and has scored 16 goals in 54 appearances for the Ivory Coast international side.
