French striker Nicolas Anelka has indicated that he could leave Chelsea at the end of the 2011/12 season. The former Arsenal and Man City hitman was widely linked with a switch this summer but chose to stay at Stamford Bridge. Anelka’s contract at Chelsea expires at the end of the season.
Anelka 33, has said that he likes how things are at Chelsea but will have to consider his options soon. He is currently not a first choice starting player, with new boss Andre Villas-Boas preferring to use him as an impact player. Villas-Boas had himself indicated last week that Anelka’s chances of leaving the Bridge were high.
Anelka had this to say to Chelsea’s official website.
I will see what happens in December and, if I am still here, I will see what happens in June.
