Italian midfielder Alberto Aquilani has claimed that he is close to joining Serie A giants Milan. The 27 year old made the claim in an interview to Gazetta dello Sport and should the transfer materialise, it will bring to an end months of speculation regarding the Italian’s future.
Aquilani spent last season on loan at Juventus, where he was a clear hit, before rejoining his Liverpool team mates at the beginning of the summer. However with Dalglish adding Jordan Henderson and Charlie Adam to the list of midfielders at Anfield, Aquilani faces increased competition for a first team spot and has been constantly linked with an exit from Anfield. He was supposed to join Fiorentina but the transfer did not materialise.
If he does join the Rossoneri, Aquilani will have played for three of Italy’s biggest clubs- Roma, Juventus and Milan
