According to Sky Sports reports Lazio striker Mauro Zarate has attracted the interest of a host of top flight English clubs. The Argentinian enjoyed a loan spell in English football at Birmingham in 2008 and the Blues were keen to keep the striker.
However, his impressive form lead to a move to the Italian top flight. Zarate made a bright start in Serie A, but has struggled to find his top form in recent months. Zarate was highly-rated as a youngster, but hasn’t really fulfilled his potential.
A move to England could be just what he needs to regain his goal scoring touch. At 25 years-old time is on his side and Premier League clubs seem keen to sign the mercurial star. Liverpool, Stoke and Sunderland are believed to be the English sides interested in signing the striker.
Whether a deal can be done for the frontman before the window shuts on Thursday remains to be seen, but a move away from the Italian capital seems exactly what the player needs.
