Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has ruled out moves for Barcelona striker David Villa and former-Manchester United star David Beckham. The Gunners have been linked with a move for Villa for a long-time, but according to Wenger the Catalan giants are not prepared to sell Spain’s record goalscorer.
Beckham has been training at Arsenal in recent weeks to keep himself in shape, after leaving LA Galaxy last month.
There is speculation about where his future lies and Beckham has been linked with clubs from every continent. Wenger has revealed that Arsenal won’t be signing the former-England captain though.
The French boss has also revealed that he is making efforts to strengthen his squad before Thursday’s transfer deadline, but is finding it tough finding the quality of player he wants.
Arsenal are now being linked with signing AZ Alkmaar youngster Kevin Maher. The 19 year-old playmaker is highly-rated and is expected to have a bright future in the game. However, the Gunners are yet to make a bid for the midfielder.
