Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of defender Carl Jenkinson from Arsenal. The 27 -year old has moved for a reported fee of £2m, and has put pen to paper a three year contract at the City Ground.
Jenkinson, who moved to the Gunners from London rivals Charlton back in 2011, has had his career at the Emirates repeatedly hampered by injuries and only managed 70 appearances for them in his eight year spell in North London. He was restricted to just three league appearances last season.
The right back has played for both England and Finland at youth level (his mother is Finnish), and got his solitary senior Three Lions cap back in 2012 against Sweden.
Jenkinson becomes Forest’s 8th signing of the summer window. This is his second stint with a Championship club- he previous spent time on loan with Birmingham City back in the 2017-18 season. He has also had loan spells with Welling, Eastbourne and West Ham.
Forest, currently managed by former Tunisia boss Sabri Lamouchi, began their Championship campaign with a 2-1 loss to West Brom over the weekend. They finished 9th last season, eight points off a playoff spot.
