Arsenal fail in sensation Luis Suarez bid

According to Sky Sports, Arsenal failed in a £30million bid to sign Liverpool striker Luis Suarez on Sunday night. The Gunners are looking to strengthen their strike-force and were expected to finally complete the protracted transfer of Gonzalo Higuain in the next few days.

However, Higuain’s fellow South American was the focus of attention last night, as the Gunners tested the water with Liverpool. The Reds dismissed the bid straight away, as they want to hold on to their star striker.

Suarez has stated his desire to leave Anfield on a number of occasions this summer. The Uruguayan has blamed the British media for his apparent need to exit Anfield and stated that he wishes to move abroad to get away from the British press, so a move to a fellow English club looks unlikely.

With everyday the Gunners move for Higuain seems to become unlikely, despite the fact it was reported a couple of days ago that Higuain was on the verge of completing a move to the Emirates. It now seems that both moves could be doomed to failure.
