Arsenal are being linked with a move for Stoke keeper Asmir Begovic in the January transfer window. The Bosnian international has been one of the standout keepers in the Premier League this season and has kept eight clean sheets, the most out of any keeper in the top flight.
Liverpool had also previously been linked with a £7million move for the keeper, but it seems that signing new attacking talent is Reds boss Brendan Rodgers main priority. Liverpool keeper Pepe Reina also now seems back in favour.
Arsenal’s current first choice Wojciech Szczesny has very little competition for his position as number one keeper at the Emirates Stadium. Backup keeper Vito Mannone enjoyed a mixed spell filling in for the Pole earlier this season, but it seems that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is looking to add a more experience keeper to his squad as competition for young Szczesny.
