Arsenal are being linked with a move for Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini. The big Belgium international impressed last season with a number of dominant displays in the Premier League with the Toffee’s.
Fellaini has previously been linked with Chelsea and with following former-boss David Moyes to Manchester United this summer.
Everton Chairman Bill Kenwright has told new Toffee’s boss Roberto Martinez that he does not need to sell his best players, but if he does sell then he will be given all the funds raised. Fellaini has a £24million release clause in his Everton contract and the Toffee’s may sell this summer to raise transfer funds for Martinez to strengthen his squad.
Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis believes that the Gunners could afford a bid for Manchester United and England star Wayne Rooney. The former-Everton star is likely to cost upward of £20million and demand wages in the region of £200,000.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has already stated that he would sign Rooney if the opportunity arose. Rooney asked to leave United just before the end of last season. The striker has also been linked with moves to PSG and Bayern Munich.
It looks like a move to another Premier League side cannot be ruled out, as Rooney looks to re-ignite his career
