Arsenal have awarded promising young midfielder Henri Lansbury a new contract. Lansbury, who has been at Arsenal since the age of nine, is hailed as one of the brightest talents in England and is currently on loan at West Ham United.
Despite his talent, Lansbury, often likened to former Gunners medio Ray Parlour, has struggled to break into an Arsenal midfielder brimming with stars and has had loan spells at Scunthorpe, Watford and Norwich, apart from his current stint at West Ham. He starred in the Hammers’ 4-3 win over Portsmouth last weekend in the Championship, scoring on debut and winning the MoM.
Lansbury is a regular for the England U21 team and scored in both their recent internationals against Azerbaijan and Israel.
