Reports have linked Arsenal target Gary Cahill with a switch to Spanish giants Barcelona in the winter transfer window. Bolton centre half Cahill, a summer transfer target for Arsenal and a host of the Gunners’ Premier League rivals ( Spurs, Liverpool etc), stayed at the Reebok Stadium.
Cahill is however out of contract next summer and unless Owen Coyle manages to get him to pen another deal, Bolton may see him leave on a free, much like what happened to Johan Elmander earlier this summer. The reports suggest that Barca manager Guardiola, who has been informed by Fabregas of Cahill’s abilities, may tempt Coyle with a £5m bid for Cahill.
Apart from Cahill, Barcelona have also been linked with a move for Milan’s Brazilian defender Thiago Silva.
