Brighton have completed the signing of Australian international Aaron Mooy on loan from Huddersfield Town on transfer deadline day. The 28 year old was linked with several clubs following Town’s relegation from the Premier League last season and eventually opted to join the Seagulls.
Brighton have been busy in the current window, with the likes of Adam Webster, Matt Clarke, Leandro Trossard, Neal Maupay and Romeric Yape all new arrivals at the Amex this summer.
The Seagulls survived relegation by the skin of their teeth last season, just about managing to finish above third from bottom Cardiff, and the powers that be at the Amex opted for a management change for the 2019/20 season- sacking Chris Hughton and bringing in Graham Potter.
Mooy originally joined Huddersfield on loan from Man City before making his move permanent two years ago. He has made over a hundred appearances for the club across all competitions during his three-year stint at the Kirklees stadium. The switch also sees Mooy link up with Socceroos team mate Mat Ryan who plays in goal for Brighton.
The medio’s last appearance for Huddersfield was over the weekend against Derby, where he played 90 minutes but couldn’t prevent his side from slumping to a 2-1 defeat.
