Ryan Babel’s agent has revealed that Birmingham City have made a bid for the Liverpool winger. Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is looking to offload some players to raise some much needed transfer funds. And Babel has been unsettled at Anfield, due to not gaining a regular first team spot at Anfield.
Babel’s agent Winnie Haatrecht has admitted that the Dutch international would consider a move to the Midlands if the two clubs could agree a transfer fee.
“We know that Liverpool seriously thinks about the offer from Birmingham, we would consider a deal if both clubs come to an agreement,” Haatrecht told De Telegraaf.
However he has revealed that the former Ajax ace would prefer to stay at Liverpool and gain a regular first team place.
“In general Ryan wants to succeed at Liverpool,” added Haatrecht. “But if the people at Anfield conclude it’s better he leaves, we have to think about the next chapter in his career.
“We will look then to the team, the perspectives of the club and Ryan as well as a meeting with the manager.”
Haarecht also stated that there are numerous clubs interested in signing Babel.
He continued: “I have sent all interested clubs to Liverpool, finally five or six clubs contacted the club. None of them came to an agreement with Liverpool.”
