West Bromwich Albion manager Roy Hodgson has dismissed rumours linking the Baggies to Russian striker Pavel Pogrebnyak. The forward is out of contract at VfB Stuttgart in the summer and it was widely reported that Hodgson, who was looking to bolster his attacking options, would make a move for the 28 year old.
However Hodgson categorically denied that a move would be made for Pogrebnyak, who joined Stuttgart from Zenit St.Petersburg in 2007. Hodgson did however add that West Brom hadn’t abandoned the search for a striker and did not rule out the chance of somebody moving to Hawthorns before the close of the window on Tuesday.
