Barcelona are reportedly planning to offer star forward David Villa to both Chelsea and Manchester City in order to fund their summer transfer spending spree. Los Cules have identified three chief targets this summer- Udinese’s Alexis Sanchez, Arsenal’s Cesc Fabregas and Villarreal’s Giuseppe Rossi, and spending over the three players could well end up in the region of £90m.
Barca coach Pep Guardiola has therefore reluctantly agreed to sell Villa to cash rich Chelsea and Man City in order to offset some of the burden that the incoming signings will bring in, especially if he can bring in Rossi as a replacement
Villa, Spain’s all time record goal scorer, signed for Barca from Valencia only thirteen months ago and netted 23 times in his inaugural campaign.
