Spanish giants Barcelona are believed to be interested in signing Liverpool centre-back Daniel Agger. The Danish international’s future at Anfield has been in doubt all summer, with reports linking him with a move to Premier League champions Manchester City.
He has now emerged as a potential solution to Barca’s central-defensive problems. The Blaugrana have been looking for a centre-back to compete with injury-hit pair Gerard Pique and Carles Puyol this season. Agger could be seen as the ideal solution.
Meanwhile, Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is believed to be interested in signing Barca’s highly-rated young winger Cristian Tello. The 21 year-old burst onto the scene last season with goals in La Liga and the Champions League, and is expected to have a bright future.
Reports from Spain suggest that he is set to sign a new contract at the Nou Camp. However, he is unlikely to be playing regular first team football this season, so a loan move could still be possible this summer.
