Controversial QPR midfielder Joey Barton is set to seal a six month loan deal with League Two newcomers Fleetwood Town. Barton had been training with the club in order to stay fit and healthy. Barton faces a 12 game ban at the start of the season, due to his actions in the last game of the last campaign against Manchester City.
He was found guilty of two acts of violent conduct in that match and given the hefty ban. Should he move to the League Two outfit the midfielder could be playing by early October, with the North West club having a busy programme of fixtures at the start of the season.
Barton knows some of the Fleetwood players from his younger days. It would be something of a coup for Town to sign Barton, despite his past altercations he is still considered a very useful player.
