Sunderland have completed the double signing of Wes Brown and John O’Shea from Manchester United. The duo have become Steve Bruce’s 7th and 8th signings respectively at Wearside this summer after Keiren Westwood, Seb Larsson, Ji Dong-won, Craig Gardner, Connor Wickham and Ahmed Elmohamady and will add depth to the Black Cats backline. Both Brown and O’Shea have put pen to paper four year deals at the Stadium of Light.
The 30 year old O’Shea has reportedly been signed for somewhere close to £5m while injury prone Brown, 31, has been snapped up for around £1m. Both O’Shea and Brown had been present at Old Trafford for more than ten years each prior to their switch to the North East. The duo could be joined by another former United team mate Darron Gibson, later this summer, if Sunderland manage to agree a deal for the medio with the reigning league champions.
