Sunderland are leading the chase for Charles N’Zogbia as the French winger prepares to leave Wigan this summer. Black Cats boss Steve Bruce has identified N’Zogbia as one of his primary targets this summer but faces stiff competition from Italian giants Juventus and N’Zogbia’s old club Newcastle United for his signature.
Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool are also keeping an eye on the situation with Aston Villa also ready to jump in should they lose Stewart Downing this summer.
Wigan are not assured of Premier League survival this weekend, and even if they do stay up, N’Zogbia has his heart set on leaving the DW Stadium. N’Zogbia is rated at around £8m, thus almost guaranteeing Wigan a 100% profit on the man they purchased for £4m from Newcastle.
